A:
The Great Depression was a terrible time in our country's history and very few people had jobs and many people were looking for them. Some of these people include Sherman Dolman, Mrs. Roe Remington (A.K.A. Mrs. Hardy), and Jacob Stien. Sherman Dolman was an old man during the Depression in the 1930's and he was looking to earn some money. He grew up in Nebraska and was an immigrant from Germany at the time. He lived through a reccesion from the 1800's which he believed were worse because he had no shoes on his feet and he was living off scraps. He learned to be a blacksmith from his father and was one for forty years of his life and eventually changed to painting and this all happened before the 30's. Mrs. Hardy had to teach to support her family during the great depression because no professor at the college that her husband worked at got paid and her family ended up making it through. They were able to stick together and Mrs. Hardy's husband got his salary back eventually. One day when she had nothing to do, she decided to make her home somewhat of a "motel" for tourists. Her business prospered and she eventually expanded it. Through the expansion, she was able to make even more money and became a very successful woman. Jacob stein was an imagrant fro poland who came to the U.S. for the ame reason as everyone else. The only thing is that he was soon unemployed from his WPA job when the Great Depression hit.The Great Depression left many inpoverty and some could not cope with losing almost everything, but others were able to make it out alright.
